Alfama Neighbourhood, Tram 28 & Fado Evening
Fado was born in the Alfama, the Moorish quarter of whitewashed houses, cobbled alleys, and laundry-strung streets on the hillside above the Tagus. A guided evening walk follows the tram 28 route through the Alfama's narrow streets to a traditional casa de fado for dinner: a petisco spread (Portuguese tapas) and two sets of live fado, the music of saudade (longing) that sounds unlike anything else on Earth.
What you'll do
- Tram 28 through the Alfama hills
- Live fado performance at dinner
